Catalina Resources Limited (ASX:CTN) has provided an update on exploration activities at its Breakaway Dam Project near Menzies in Western Australia, alongside results from Phase 1 drilling at the Leghorn Prospect within the Evanston Project.

Breakaway Dam Confirmed as Copper-Rich VMS System
Recent drilling and geophysical programs have confirmed Breakaway Dam as a copper-rich Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) system with multiple untested targets and demonstrated scale, supporting the advancement of the forward exploration campaign as a priority.

Drilling intersected mineralisation across multiple holes, with notable results including -
- 2 m @ 0.48% Cu (estimated true width 8.7 m), including higher-grade intervals of 0.95 m @ 1.18% Cu and 1.7 m @ 1.05% Cu (BDCDD2501)
- 47 m @ 1.97% Cu and 0.24% Zn (estimated true width 1.4 m) (BDCDD2502)
- 2 m @ 0.32% Cu and 0.29% Zn (estimated true width 4.1 m) (BDCDD2504)
The company has identified multiple DHEM conductors, including one plate that remains untested, supporting further follow-up drilling.
Follow-Up Drilling Program Finalised
The company has finalised planning for a structured follow-up drilling program at Breakaway Dam, comprising approximately 3,000m of RC drilling. The program is designed to test EM conductors, expand the Central Zone, and assess additional targets.
Drilling is expected to commence once rigs are secured, with all necessary Program of Work approvals, and heritage clearances already in place. Results from the program will be applied to update the company’s geological model, rank follow-up targets, and guide subsequent exploration activities.
Land Position Expanded at Breakaway Dam
In parallel with drilling activities, the company has expanded its land position at Breakaway Dam through the acquisition of additional tenements and is progressing new exploration licence applications over unpegged adjacent prospective ground.
This tenement consolidation strategy is expected to provide the ability to systematically assess the wider mineral system, efficiently follow-up exploration outcomes, and support the ongoing development of the Breakaway Dam Project.
Evanston Project Delivers Phase 1 Gold Results
Phase 1 RC drilling at the Leghorn Prospect confirmed the mafic host sequence and the orientation of mineralisation, with intersections including-
- 1m @ 2.93 g/t Au from 159m (end of hole) (25EVRC009)
- 2m @ 1.01 g/t Au from 161m in (25EVRC007)
The results confirm the continuity of gold mineralisation along strike and at depth.
Phase 1 drilling, totalling approximately 10,000m of combined aircore and RC drilling, is underway across the Evanston and Yerilgee Projects, with multiple target zones tested as part of the current program. Assay results from the remaining Phase 1 targets are pending, with samples submitted to the laboratory and results awaited.
