Emerge Gaming Limited (ASX:EM1), an online gaming platform provider from the Media & Entertainment industrial group, announced that Cloudzen Pte Ltd (Cloudzen) which is its exclusive Technology Partner showcased its innovative GameCloud streaming technology at Singaporeâs only live 5G facility. Singtel, Ericsson and Singapore Polytechnic have opened the live 5G facility for the development of Singaporeâs 5G ecosystem where it will be used as a training centre, test bed and ideation lab. It will also drive the adoption of 5G by the enterprises for digital transformations.
The GameCloud streaming showcase was a success which enabled a seamless, lag-free and high-quality game streaming experience. It also confirmed the strength and capability of technology used by Cloudzen. The Cloudzenâs technology highlights the capabilities of the 5G network to transform the experience of eSports and gaming world in the mobile environment. The demonstration was boosted with 5G connectivity running on Singtelâs network.
The latest Ericsson Mobility Report states that 5G network with its ultra-fast connectivity speeds and low latency rates will soon be going to capture the cellular technology worldwide. Through a 5G network, the transformation is expected in the transportation, logistics, healthcare and manufacturing industries. It will have a significant influence in the creation of future smart cities, Artificial Intelligence and autonomous vehicles.
Previously, the compression algorithm of the GameCloud technology has tested its abilities on 3G and 4G network environments. With the pilot testing of the 5G network by Singtel, it has been proved that the GameCloud technology would be able to provide services of the 5G network across the world.
The validation of the in-game cloud capability on the 5G network will also empower the partnership between Emerge Gaming and Cloudzen. The GameCloud will allow its user to access it on devices such as mobile phone, smart TV and 4G network. There is an inflection point coming when the content of the game would not receive any distribution through traditional means, mitigating the need to buy expensive hardware or having to incur active downloads of AAA quality games. In addition to it, all online eSports technology will be using the network of Cloudzen technology which will significantly benefit Emerge Gaming Limited.
With the successful completion of demonstration, GameCloud is ready for global expansion in CY2019 into three identified markets, i.e. Cloud Gaming, 5G Gaming & eSports.
Greg Stevens, who is the CEO of Emerge Gaming states that the importance of the demonstration indicates the potential of cloud gaming through digital transformation. The company will now be looking forward towards the future of gaming/eSports followed by the distribution of the gaming content.
