  • Lincoln Minerals (ASX:LML) confirms uranium anomalies at Yallunda Project in South Australia

  • Soil sample YD38 shows notable uranium, vanadium, and molybdenum presence

  • Geological mapping and surveys underway to define key lithological features

Lincoln Minerals Limited (ASX:LML), listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the diversified metals and mining index, has disclosed a series of uranium anomalies at its Yallunda Project, situated in the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia. This development positions the company prominently among ASX 200 mining players with uranium exposure.

The Yallunda Project is currently in the early stages of exploration. Soil sampling from location YD38 has revealed uranium, vanadium, and molybdenum concentrations. The findings reflect geological contrasts between granitic and metasedimentary units, influenced by structural controls and redox conditions, which are consistent with uranium mobilisation at lithological boundaries.

One of the most notable observations from the project is the contact zone between the Moody Suite granites and Hutchinson Group metasediments. The company's chief executive confirmed that these contacts serve as markers for uranium-bearing formations, with the anomaly from YD38 displaying key characteristics that are commonly associated with redox-controlled uranium mineralisation.

The company has mapped unconformity surfaces overlying the Miltalie Gneiss, where further anomalies have been detected in sandstone and sediment zones. These will be incorporated into upcoming exploration phases. Lincoln Minerals plans to pursue expanded geochemical sampling and targeted geophysical surveys to better understand the scope of mineralised systems within the area.

Mapping efforts are currently focused on delineating key lithological boundaries that may host further anomalies. The geological setting, marked by the intersection of multiple rock units and surface processes, adds complexity to the terrain but also presents avenues for discovery.

In addition to the Yallunda development, Lincoln Minerals has secured a loan aligned with its research and development tax rebate, tied to its Minbrie Copper Project, also located within South Australia. This move is expected to support the advancement of its copper exploration activities across the broader Grawler Craton.

Lincoln Minerals continues to focus on the exploration and development of critical mineral assets in South Australia. The company's multi-commodity approach, including uranium and copper, reinforces its presence in the regional mining landscape. With its current market listing as ASX:LML and exploration initiatives across varied geological terrains, the company maintains an active role within the Australian resources sector.
