  • Sunshine Metals receives Queensland Government funding for exploration at the Ravenswood Consolidated Project

  • Two key exploration programs to commence across Liontown North and Highway-Reward areas

  • Reverse circulation drilling also planned at Salla and Plateau targets in coming months

Sunshine Metals (ASX:SHN), listed under the materials index of the ASX 200, continues to build momentum in the Australian resources sector with government-backed exploration initiatives at its Ravenswood Consolidated Project in Queensland. The company has received government grants to support advanced survey and drilling activity across its critical mineral prospects, further strengthening its operational footprint in a region well-known for significant gold and base metal output.

Survey and Drilling Focus at Liontown North

One of the approved initiatives focuses on the Liontown North prospect, located within proximity of the Liontown Dome. The program will involve testing geophysical anomalies identified through induced polarisation and electromagnetic work. A deep drillhole is planned to examine the area north of the dome, which has previously returned high-grade intersections near historical drilling.

Sunshine Metals recently completed a wide-ranging drilling campaign at Liontown, covering numerous drillholes across a substantial metreage. Results from this phase are anticipated shortly and are expected to guide the next stages of development.

Airborne Survey Planned for Highway-Reward

In a separate program, Sunshine Metals is preparing to undertake an airborne electromagnetic survey at the Highway-Reward deposit within the Coronation region. This survey is aimed at detecting subsurface features associated with copper and gold mineralisation systems.

The work is scheduled to commence during the middle of the year, aligning with seasonal planning for field operations across North Queensland.

Expanded Exploration Beyond Ravenswood

Beyond the government-supported programs, Sunshine Metals is also set to initiate a reverse circulation drilling campaign targeting new prospects at Salla and Plateau. These targets form part of the company’s broader strategy to evaluate multiple prospects across its extensive tenement holdings.

Located in a mineral-rich district that has historically yielded substantial gold and polymetallic output, the broader Ravenswood area remains a key exploration zone for Sunshine.

Strategic Role in Queensland’s Mineral Inventory

According to the company’s leadership, the recognition of Liontown as part of Queensland’s strategic mineral assets reinforces the significance of the work undertaken to date. The competitive nature of the funding program highlights the perceived quality and geological value of the company’s operations.

As Sunshine Metals progresses through its calendar of exploration programs, its activities remain aligned with the broader objective of enhancing geological understanding and delineating economically viable mineralisation across its Queensland projects.

Resource Outlook at Liontown

The current resource estimate at the Liontown project comprises an inferred oxide classification that includes gold and silver quantities. Historical intersections within this resource zone have delivered notable grades, supporting further exploration and follow-up programs.

These results contribute to the growing geological model being developed by Sunshine Metals, aimed at building a robust project base in one of Australia’s most productive mineral belts.

Continued Regional Focus

Sunshine Metals continues to advance its suite of projects across Queensland, benefiting from both government support and a strong geological framework. The company’s multi-project approach reflects a commitment to long-term exploration in regions known for their high mineral yield and established infrastructure.
