Dark Star Minerals (CSE:BATT) initiates data compilation and exploration planning at the Bleasdell uranium deposit
Company focuses on historically drilled Horn and Jackpine zones with uranium-bearing pegmatite dykes
Saskatchewan remains a leading region for mining investment and uranium production in Canada
Dark Star Minerals Ltd. (CSE:BATT), listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange, has initiated exploration planning at the Bleasdell uranium project located in Northern Saskatchewan. The project lies within a highly prospective uranium region, aligning with the province’s strong reputation for mineral development and aligning with broader interest across indexes such as the ASX 200.
Compilation of Historical Data
The company has commenced compiling geological and drilling data collected by previous operators at the Bleasdell deposit. This effort is intended to guide surface exploration activities and assist with preparations for confirmation and exploratory drilling programs. The comprehensive review includes records from mid-twentieth-century exploration that recorded extensive drilling activity over a relatively short period.
Exploration Strategy and Target Zones
Dark Star’s exploration strategy will initially target the Horn and Jackpine zones, both known for their uranium-bearing pegmatite dykes. These zones have been historically drilled and show characteristics that support continued geological interest. Alongside these, three additional zones identified by more recent modern exploration efforts have also been earmarked, offering further geological areas to examine and understand in future exploration phases.
Project Background and Historic Work
The Bleasdell project is a historically explored uranium site. Work conducted between the mid-nineteen-fifties included a large number of drillholes over several thousand metres. Assay results from this historical campaign showed various intercepts containing triuranium octoxide. While these results are historical and non-compliant by current reporting standards, they provide a technical basis for renewed field efforts.
The property spans over five hundred hectares and was the subject of an acquisition move by Dark Star earlier this year. This acquisition supports the company’s commitment to advancing critical mineral assets across Canada.
Regional Mining Strength
Saskatchewan continues to be one of Canada’s premier mining jurisdictions. As noted in recent surveys, the province ranks highly for investment attractiveness in the mining sector. Saskatchewan is recognised for having occurrences of nearly all of Canada’s listed critical minerals, making it an important centre for exploration and development across a broad range of mineral commodities.
In recent years, the region has posted strong performance in mineral sales and exploration expenditures. These economic indicators are buoyed by increasing global demand for minerals such as potash and uranium, both of which Saskatchewan supplies in significant volumes.
Corporate Outlook
Dark Star Minerals focuses on advancing uranium and critical mineral projects aligned with energy transition goals. The company’s portfolio and activities remain centered on contributing to a diversified and secure mineral supply chain for clean energy technologies. By incorporating historically advanced projects such as Bleasdell, the company aims to play a role in supporting sustainable resource development across the Canadian mining landscape.
