  • Trigg Minerals commences exploration at its Antimony Canyon project in Utah

  • Initial work will focus on areas within and surrounding historic mine sites

  • Exploration aligns with growing demand for critical minerals

Trigg Minerals (ASX:TMG), part of the materials sector on the ASX 200 index, has initiated its first exploration campaign at the Antimony Canyon project in Nevada, USA. The company’s move reflects a broader focus among resource groups on advancing projects related to critical minerals.

The maiden field activities will be concentrated in a range of zones identified as having high geological interest, both within and adjacent to the existing Antimony Canyon project boundary. This includes regions surrounding a number of historical mining locations that have shown historical mineral presence.

Historic sites part of exploration strategy

As part of the company’s strategy, Trigg Minerals will focus efforts around several well-known legacy mine sites. These include Emma-Albion, Mammoth, Stebinite, Gem, and Pluto. Each of these sites forms part of a larger geological corridor believed to be prospective for antimony.

The exploration is designed to assess surface mineralisation and structural features that could guide further technical evaluation. The company plans to apply modern exploration techniques, integrating historical records with current fieldwork to refine geological understanding.

Strengthening supply chain for critical minerals

The Antimony Canyon project aligns with global initiatives to enhance the stability and security of critical mineral supply chains. Antimony is widely used in flame retardants, batteries, and semiconductors, making it an essential component in multiple industrial applications.

Trigg Minerals' activity supports broader efforts within the ASX-listed materials segment to develop new sources of strategically important elements. The focus on antimony places the company in a field of increasing interest from governments and industry groups seeking to diversify supply away from limited jurisdictions.

Corporate direction remains focused on exploration

Trigg Minerals has indicated that the US project will play an increasingly prominent role in its forward exploration program. With a background in domestic mineral development, the move into US territory marks a geographic expansion for the (ASX:TMG) ticker.

The work underway at Antimony Canyon is part of a wider exploration narrative seen across the ASX 200 materials sector, where companies are enhancing efforts to identify and define resources critical to the modern economy.
