  • New laboratory and pilot plant projects to be based in Brazil

  • Partnership focuses on technology initiatives in mineral processing and research

Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE), operating in the rare earths sector and listed on the ASX Index, has signed a formal agreement with SENAI CIMATEC, a Brazilian innovation institute, to co-develop advanced facilities for rare earth processing. The agreement supports research infrastructure for rare earth separation and recovery technologies and is aligned with the company’s broader activities in Brazil.

Establishment of Processing Infrastructure

As part of the agreement, Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE) and SENAI CIMATEC will develop a bench-scale laboratory and pilot plant. These facilities are intended for research and engineering development in rare earth extraction and processing. The collaboration is being carried out in Brazil, with SENAI CIMATEC providing a large portion of infrastructure and resource support.

Project Collaboration Structure

The agreement outlines joint efforts between the company and SENAI CIMATEC to deliver research and testing outcomes at scale. The partnership is expected to apply SENAI CIMATEC’s industrial research capabilities to rare earths from Brazilian Rare Earths’ project portfolio. Testing and scale-up processes will take place at SENAI CIMATEC’s industrial technology campus.

Focus on Rare Earth Element Separation

Activities at the new laboratory and pilot facility will centre on rare earth element (REE) separation and processing. The equipment will be used to examine mineral compositions and recovery pathways using data from Brazilian project areas. The development aims to support downstream technical workflows required for processing REEs sourced from mineralised zones.

Location and Technical Resources

SENAI CIMATEC’s research and development centre is located in Brazil and includes technical staff, laboratory facilities, and pilot-scale processing equipment. The agreement allows Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE) access to this infrastructure, enabling the company to operate within an established innovation ecosystem.

Agreement Coverage and Support

The binding agreement covers the majority of costs for laboratory establishment and operational development. SENAI CIMATEC’s contribution includes infrastructure, laboratory equipment, and technical expertise to support rare earth processing efforts led by Brazilian Rare Earths (ASX:BRE).
