  • Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) outlines new gold targets at the Lorraine prospect in Québec

  • Field mapping and UAV magnetic survey underway to define gold-copper vein system

  • Historical data confirms visible gold and copper mineralisation across multiple levels

Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT), part of the materials sector on the ASX 200, has initiated exploration activities at the Lorraine prospect within its wholly owned Belleterre-Angliers Greenstone Belt (BAGB) in Québec, Canada. The project area spans across the Lac des Bois segment and is recognised for its mineral-rich extension of magnetic copper and nickel.

The latest focus is on identifying high-grade gold targets adjacent to the historic Lorraine Mine, as the company continues to build on its portfolio of copper, nickel, and platinum group element assets in the region. The greenstone belt is considered to host a variety of structurally controlled vein systems enriched with precious and base metals.

Detailed Mapping and Sampling Campaign Underway

Pivotal has commenced a new field program that includes detailed geological mapping and systematic sampling of quartz vein systems. The program aims to outline the geometry and distribution of the gold-copper mineralisation surrounding the Lorraine prospect, including quartz veining interpreted to extend along a significant strike length.

To support field operations, a high-resolution unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) magnetic survey is being conducted to provide additional insight into sub-surface structures. This geophysical data is expected to refine the scope of mineralised zones across the prospect area, contributing to the understanding of the broader geological system within the BAGB project footprint.

Historical Data Supports Gold-Copper System Continuity

Data from prior exploration at the Lorraine site includes results from underground channel sampling, which previously identified multiple gold and copper-enriched veins. These veins were accessed from the sixth level of historic mine workings, where mineralised intersections were recorded in both vertical and along-strike crosscuts.

Drill programs conducted in earlier campaigns intersected visible gold mineralisation above the sixth level, further reinforcing the continuity of the mineralised structure. The gold mineralisation is defined across an open corridor that extends in all directions, with historical highlights indicating the presence of both gold and copper across multiple drillholes.

Strategic Importance Within Québec Asset Portfolio

The Lorraine prospect forms a key part of Pivotal’s wider strategy across its Québec landholdings, which includes the advanced Horden Lake project. While activities at Horden Lake remain focused on resource expansion across copper, nickel, platinum group elements, and gold, the work at Lorraine highlights an additional mineralised system within the broader regional framework.

By progressing this exploration initiative during the current field season, Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) continues to advance its multi-commodity development program across strategic Canadian jurisdictions. The integration of field mapping, sampling, and magnetic surveys reflects a data-driven approach aimed at defining structures that may be mineralised with multiple elements.

Exploration Progress Adds to Broader Sector Developments

The materials sector on the ASX 200 continues to draw attention as exploration companies engage in both brownfield and greenfield programs across domestic and international locations. Québec, with its established mining framework and infrastructure, remains a significant area of interest for Australian-listed resource firms operating globally.

Pivotal’s exploration at Lorraine is among the initiatives highlighting this transnational development trend, as companies maintain activity across diverse commodities including gold, copper, nickel, and platinum group elements. The focus on systematic data collection and regional integration marks a methodical step in ongoing field-based operations.
