Emmerson Resources (ASX:ERM) preparing shallow RC drilling at White Devil in Northern Territory
Drilling initiative aims to increase resource confidence at site near historical Black Angel pit
Ongoing scoping study and aerial survey underway to evaluate structural features and ironstone mineralisation
Emmerson Resources, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:ERM), is part of the gold exploration sector, which has been gaining attention in relation to the broader activity on the asx 200. The company is currently focused on expanding its drilling program at the White Devil deposit, located in the Northern Territory. This development is part of its broader exploration efforts within the Tennant Creek Mineral Field.
The White Devil project includes an upcoming shallow reverse circulation drilling campaign scheduled to begin in the second half of May. This activity will extend over a multi-week period and is set to enhance the understanding of mineralisation in areas below the historical Black Angel pit. The aim is to refine the geological framework of the site and update the existing mineral estimates.
Scoping Study and Resource Confidence Initiatives
A scoping study is in progress to determine the scale and classification of the White Devil deposit within the company’s broader exploration portfolio. This work is being managed by independent consultancy Entech, in collaboration with Emmerson and Tennant Consolidated Mining Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pan African Resources, listed under the (LSE:PAF).
The study will assess various development scenarios, including a separate joint venture structure known as a major mine joint venture. If adopted, Emmerson would maintain a contributing equity interest in the development under this structure, providing a framework for further operational planning.
Drone Survey and Regional Exploration Expansion
In parallel to drilling efforts, a drone-based aerial magnetic survey is being conducted across the White Devil area. This ultra-detailed survey is designed to detect subsurface structures and mineralised zones that may not have been visible in prior regional surveys. This approach follows Emmerson’s earlier identification of “blind” deposits within the broader Tennant Creek region that had been missed using conventional datasets.
The insights from this survey are expected to inform upcoming drill targets, which will be selected for future reverse circulation programs. This work supports Emmerson’s commitment to comprehensive geological mapping and refined targeting in underexplored zones.
Recent Resource Update and Exploration Outlook
Recent resource updates at White Devil were published in April, building on the initial estimates reported in January. These updates reflect further geological validation and contribute to the company’s exploration milestones. Emmerson has indicated that laboratory assay results from the new drilling will be delivered progressively, beginning in late June and continuing through mid-July, depending on processing times.
The White Devil deposit is one of the company’s primary assets in the Northern Territory, with Emmerson Resources also maintaining a presence in New South Wales. The company’s exploration footprint spans high-interest regions known for historical production and ongoing geological significance.
Participation in Industry Events
Emmerson Resources is among the exploration companies participating in the RIU Sydney Resources Round-up, which takes place from early to mid-May. This event gathers mining and exploration stakeholders and provides a platform for sharing updates on project activities, exploration strategies, and technical advancements. The company’s presence at such events aligns with its strategy of maintaining visibility within the sector while continuing technical operations on the ground.
