Highlights
Connected Minerals Limited (ASX:CML), listed within the ASX 200 resources sector, has completed its first round of drilling at the Etango North-East Uranium Project located in Namibia. The project lies adjacent to and within the same mineralised units as Bannerman Energy’s (ASX:BMN) advanced-stage Etango Uranium Project.
The maiden program comprised reverse circulation drilling that confirmed the presence of uranium mineralisation across nearly all completed holes. The drill campaign was initially designed for a limited number of holes but was expanded due to encouraging geological signs near the trenching area. The host lithology is composed of multiple stacked Alaskite units, a known feature at Bannerman’s Etango deposit.
Comparison to Established Uranium Project Reinforces Geological Model
Bannerman Energy’s Etango Project, which is fully permitted and under construction, recorded similar mineralisation in its early exploration phases. That project now holds a significant resource base. The proximity of Connected’s Etango North-East to Bannerman’s tenements enhances geological continuity, with both projects sitting along strike and sharing identical host rocks.
Connected Minerals’ Managing Director stated that the drill results are consistent with those observed during the early stages of Bannerman’s development at Etango. The similarities between the projects are underscored by both the stratigraphy and mineralised widths encountered.
Follow-Up Exploration Initiatives Launched at Southern Prospects
Following completion of the initial drilling program, Connected Minerals has initiated phase-two planning. The upcoming work will include further drilling at the Ondapanda Prospect to infill and extend the known mineralisation. In addition, the company will begin on-ground assessments at the Pandula and Onkumbwa targets, which are situated to the south of the current drilling area.
These newly focused efforts aim to assess larger anomalies previously highlighted through mapping and surface sampling. The mineralisation remains open in multiple directions, prompting further exploration to refine and expand the geological model.
Broad-Based Project Portfolio Includes Western Australian Assets
In addition to its Namibian uranium interests, Connected Minerals holds projects in Western Australia, demonstrating a diversified approach to exploration. The company's strategy remains centered on advancing high-interest mineral systems across stable jurisdictions.
With continued activity in uranium exploration and expanding drill coverage at Etango North-East, Connected Minerals maintains a strong presence within the broader ASX 200 materials sector.
