Atlantic Lithium Ltd discovers spodumene pegmatite in Côte d’Ivoire at Agboville and Rubino licences
Rock-chip and soil sampling confirms lithium-bearing anomalies over large areas
Exploration efforts align with the company’s broader spodumene ambitions across Africa
Atlantic Lithium Ltd (ASX:A11), (AIM:ALL), (OTCQX:ALLIF), listed on the ASX 200 mining sector index, has advanced its lithium exploration footprint in West Africa with new spodumene discoveries in Côte d’Ivoire. The company identified spodumene pegmatite at its wholly-owned Agboville and Rubino licences, enhancing its regional project portfolio beyond its primary operations in Ghana.
Rock-Chip and Soil Sampling Reinforce Prospectivity
Rock-chip sampling carried out after visual assessments across both Côte d’Ivoire licences has confirmed the presence of lithium-bearing mineralisation. At Rubino, phase two soil sampling uncovered widespread lithium-in-soil anomalies spanning a significant area. These findings are open-ended to the northeast, indicating the possibility of further discovery through continued surface work.
Strategic Expansion Beyond Ghana Operations
While the company’s primary development remains centered around the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Ghana, now progressing through the permitting phase, the recent Côte d’Ivoire results signify a strategic expansion of exploration activities. The Agboville and Rubino licences are situated in regions with comparable geological settings, offering continuity in exploration methodology and geological interpretation.
CEO Affirms Exploration Significance
Company leadership emphasized the importance of these findings, highlighting that the assay results confirm earlier visual spodumene observations during field mapping. These confirmations add credibility to the tenure's geological potential and extend the company's reach across lithium-rich zones within West Africa.
Knowledge Transfer from Ewoyaa Drives Côte d’Ivoire Activities
The company plans to leverage technical expertise and methodologies developed during the evaluation of the Ewoyaa Lithium Project to guide its approach in Côte d’Ivoire. This transfer of knowledge is expected to accelerate the assessment and advancement of the newly identified sites while maintaining a cost-efficient strategy.
Commitment to Long-Term Growth in Africa
Atlantic Lithium has stated that while the focus remains on progressing Ewoyaa toward a final investment decision, the Côte d’Ivoire assets represent a valuable addition to its exploration strategy. The company continues to prioritise spodumene production growth through an Africa-centric development model.
The discoveries in Côte d’Ivoire further position Atlantic Lithium Ltd (ASX:A11, AIM:ALL, OTCQX:ALLIF) as an active contributor within the broader ASX 200 mining cohort, reinforcing the importance of diversified resource development across the region.
