Astral Resources (ASX:AAR) reports high gold recoveries in initial metallurgical testing at Kamperman
Results support inclusion of Feysville deposits in ongoing Mandilla Pre-Feasibility Study
Active drilling across Feysville, Mandilla, and Spargoville set to deliver further resource updates
Astral Resources Ltd (ASX:AAR), listed on the ASX 200 index, has achieved significant gold recovery outcomes from its maiden metallurgical testing program at the Kamperman and Rogan Josh deposits, part of the Feysville Gold Project in Western Australia. These deposits sit within the broader gold portfolio that includes the Mandilla and Spargoville projects.
Metallurgical Testing Yields High Gold Recovery at Kamperman
A series of composited samples collected from Kamperman and Rogan Josh were tested under controlled conditions using a low-cost processing method under consideration for the Mandilla Gold Project. Most of the Kamperman samples demonstrated high gold recovery using a coarse grind size and standard cyanide and pH conditions. This confirmed the presence of free-milling gold and suitability for simple extraction techniques.
Some variability was observed in specific Kamperman samples containing elevated copper levels, which impacted cyanide availability. These samples are planned to be re-tested with adjusted reagent concentrations to enhance recovery outcomes.
Rogan Josh Performance Reinforces Viability
Gold recovery from Rogan Josh was also encouraging despite its lower average head grade. The results indicate that ore from this deposit responds well to the proposed processing approach. Collectively, the testing data supports the metallurgical compatibility of the Feysville ores with the Mandilla processing flowsheet.
Mineral Resource Integration into Mandilla Study
The positive test outcomes follow the release of maiden Mineral Resource Estimates for Kamperman and Rogan Josh, announced previously. These deposits are now being considered for inclusion in the Pre-Feasibility Study underway at Mandilla. The development strategy includes blending ore from Feysville as satellite feedstock to the proposed processing plant at Mandilla.
The resource base at Mandilla, combined with newly confirmed metallurgy from Feysville, strengthens the project’s overall development pathway.
Ongoing Drilling Activity Across Key Project Areas
Astral Resources has been actively drilling across Feysville and Mandilla, with recent campaigns covering both air-core and reverse circulation drilling. The programs are aimed at enhancing the geological framework and upgrading existing resources.
The Feysville air-core campaign focused on defining shallow gold mineralisation, while the RC program aimed to support future resource estimation updates. Following the completion of Feysville drilling, the rig moved to the Iris deposit at Mandilla to execute in-fill drilling for refining resource classifications.
Exploration Extends to Spargoville Tenure
The company has commenced further drilling on its newly acquired Spargoville tenure, particularly around the southern extensions of the Hestia deposit. This phase targets shear-hosted mineralisation patterns identified in regional datasets.
A wider exploration program is also planned to cover the expansive Spargoville Shear Zone. The objective is to evaluate continuity along strike and explore untested gold anomalies, further broadening the company’s development pipeline.
Astral Resources continues to progress multiple gold prospects in Western Australia, with technical milestones such as metallurgical validation and resource drilling underpinning its development focus.
