Venus Metals Launches RC Drilling at Sandstone Gold Project to Upgrade Resource Status

4 min read | July 06, 2026 05:46 AM AEST | By Manish Choudhary

Venus Metals Corporation Limited has initiated a Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at its Sandstone (Bellchambers) Gold Project in Western Australia. This effort aims to transform the current Exploration Target into an Inferred Mineral Resource, potentially increasing the project's value. Market participants will be closely watching the drilling outcomes, which may influence future resource evaluations.

Key Points

  • Company: Venus Metals Corporation Limited (ASX:VMC)
  • Development: RC drilling commenced at Sandstone (Bellchambers) Gold Project
  • Exploration Target: 800,000 to 950,000 tonnes grading 1.75 to 2.00 g/t Au, equating to 45,000 to 60,000 ounces of gold
  • Investor focus: Drilling results and potential upgrade to Inferred Mineral Resource

Overview of the Sandstone (Bellchambers) Gold Project

Located about 23 km southwest of Sandstone town and 70 km northeast by road from the Youanmi Gold Mine, the Sandstone (Bellchambers) Gold Project lies within Mining Lease M57/671. Venus Metals holds a 90% stake in this strategically situated project area, renowned for its gold mining activity.

The location enhances the significance of the company’s exploration initiatives in the region.

RC Drilling Program Objectives

The RC drilling campaign is designed to convert the Exploration Target into an Inferred Mineral Resource. Drill holes will be spaced at 50-meter intervals, with two to three holes per section, focusing on the mineralised zones.

This program is critical for gathering data to potentially upgrade the resource classification, thereby improving the project’s economic prospects and investor appeal.

Details of the Exploration Target

According to Widenbar and Associates, the Exploration Target is estimated between 800,000 and 950,000 tonnes at grades of 1.75 to 2.00 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold, representing approximately 45,000 to 60,000 ounces. This target lies beneath the existing Bellchambers Global Resource and north of the current Indicated/Inferred Mineral Resource at depth.

It is important to emphasize that these figures are conceptual, requiring further drilling to establish a Mineral Resource. The Exploration Target has been prepared in compliance with the JORC Code (2012).

Current Mineral Resource Estimates

The Bellchambers project’s existing Mineral Resource Estimate totals 766,000 tonnes at 1.27 g/t Au, amounting to 31,400 ounces of gold. This includes 8,800 ounces classified as Measured, 18,100 ounces as Indicated, and 4,500 ounces as Inferred.

The ongoing drilling aims to expand these resources by converting the Exploration Target into a defined resource category, potentially influencing future development plans.

Geological Expertise and Competent Persons

The Exploration Target was compiled by Mr. Lynn Widenbar of Widenbar and Associates, a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, providing authoritative expertise to the resource estimates.

Mr. Simon Coxhell, Non-Executive Director of Venus Metals and a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, has also contributed to the exploration results. Both have consented to the inclusion of their work in company disclosures.

Forward-Looking Statements and Associated Risks

Venus Metals’ update includes forward-looking statements regarding its exploration plans and expectations. These are subject to risks and uncertainties, with no guarantee that actual outcomes will align with projections.

Investors should consider the inherent risks in mineral exploration, including potential changes in project scope, resource estimates, and market conditions.

Upcoming Milestones and Investor Watchpoints

The next critical step is the evaluation of RC drilling results. Successfully upgrading the Exploration Target to an Inferred Mineral Resource could substantially enhance project value and attract additional investment.

Investors are advised to monitor company updates on drilling progress and any revisions to resource estimates or development strategies.

Company Profile and Strategic Interests

Venus Metals Corporation Limited maintains a broad portfolio of exploration projects across Western Australia, targeting gold, copper, base metals, lithium, titanium, and vanadium. The company is also a major shareholder in Rox Resources Limited.

This diversified approach allows Venus Metals to mitigate risks associated with fluctuations in individual commodity markets.
