ABS Data: Unemployment Rate Increases by 0.1 pts in October

As per the recently announced data by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the unemployment rate rose by 0.1 points in October to 5.3 percent in Australia. The following are the seasonally adjusted estimates of various parameters:

  • Participation rate fell by 0.1 points to 66.0 per cent.
  • Employment declined by 19,000 to 12,919,200 people.
  • Unemployment rose by 17,100 to 726,100 people.
  • Monthly hours worked fell by 2.8 million hours in all jobs to 1,783.9 million hours.
