7 Signs You Need To Go For A Health Check

While running after our goals and dreams in life, we often tend to put our mental and physical health in the backseat. While combating mental health issues can take longer to detect and cure, specific physical changes are a tell-tale sign of many underlying diseases.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, it’s time to get checked!

1.  Unexplained Weight Loss

Weight loss isn't necessarily positive, and sudden and unexpected weight loss can indicate a severe problem. Our weight tells a lot about our well-being, so any unexpected, unusual weight changes should be taken seriously.

Weight is directly linked to the metabolic system and can be harmed by a variety of illnesses. Some of them are thyroid issues, viruses, and cancers. It's a good idea to have yourself tested right away if you experience any unexpected changes.

2.  Extreme Headache

Certain people are susceptible to headaches and migraines more frequently than others. Pressure relievers and ointments are widely available in markets to treat headaches, but they are rarely considered a serious medical condition. They provide immediate relief, leading you to believe that the issue has been permanently resolved.

However, if not treated appropriately, such pains may grow into serious problems. A complete body check-up will reveal whether you have any complex conditions such as a tumour or aneurysm.

3.  Changes in Sleeping Pattern

The significance of a good night's sleep cannot be overstated; sleep is a sign of good health. Not getting enough sleep at the right time can jeopardise the overall well-being. Also, inadequate sleep or a persistent feeling of fatigue must be discussed with family and doctors.

Any changes in daily sleeping habits could indicate various health issues, like kidney problems or musculoskeletal disorders. Hence, it's always a good idea to keep track of one's sleep. Some people even prefer to buy sensors to monitor their sleep.

4.  Persistent Fatigue and Sluggishness

Unusual and frequent exhaustion may indicate various health issues, including food deficiencies, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and even heart problems.

Thus, one cannot ignore chronic weakness, loss of energy, and fatigue; a health check-up provides a clear and accurate picture of one's health status.

5.  Changes In Mole Size Or Colour

If you find that a once-round mole has grown in size or changed colour, see your doctor right away. This may be a sign of malignant melanoma, a dangerous form of skin cancer.

Biopsy or ultrasound are used to make the diagnosis, and treatment options include surgery accompanied by immunotherapy or chemotherapy. Asymmetry, Border, Color, Diameter, and Evolution of the mole are the ABCDEs of skin cancer to look out for.

6.  Never-ending Hunger

Your body is asking you to drink liquid when you're thirsty. Unquenchable thirst, on the other side, is not a healthy thing. Since high blood sugar levels cause an imbalance of water in the body, excessive thirst may be a symptom of diabetes.

You are the only one who really understands yourself. Consult your doctor if your water appetite is consistent and insatiable.

7.  Distorted Sight

Blurry vision or a change in your prescription that isn't anticipated isn't always a warning that you need new glasses. Instead, any of these could suggest more severe health conditions such as diabetes or a stroke. Make an appointment with your ophthalmologist right away if any such signs are seen.

Summing up, many symptoms of possibly serious ailments may go unnoticed due to individual neglect towards health. At the same time, it is also not always the case that every symptom has some life-threatening disease attached.

It is, therefore, imperative to get yourself regularly checked and be wary of any changes in the body.
