Highlights

  • Drilling on two of the three target areas has been completed.
  • Drilling at the third and final target area is in final stages with over 881m of drilling already completed at the three target areas.
  • Assay results for the ongoing drill program at Euro are anticipated to be received within Q1 2022.

Data-driven minerals exploration company, Tempest Minerals Limited (ASX:TEM), shared an update on the ongoing drilling program at the Euro gold project. The diamond drilling program had commenced in November 2021 to confirm and extend historic results with gold grades up to 11.4 g/t.

Updating on the progress of the exploration program, Tempest stated that drilling on two of the three target areas had been completed.

So far, all holes have intersected thick zones of alteration, including biotite, chlorite, albite and garnet with the visible mineralisation of hydrothermal quartz breccias and disseminated to semi-massive sulphides. These semi-massive sulphides may be associated to large mineralisation systems, including volcanic massive sulphides (VMS) or skarn.

Historical drilling programs intersected high-grade gold mineralisation near the surface. Some of the substantial intersections are –

  • nr017: 17m @ 1.2g/t Au from 20m
  • nr018: 15m @ 2.3 g/t Au (including 7m @ 3.4g/t Au) from 15m
  • mbrb021a: 9m @ 1.2g/t Au (including 2m @ 11.4g/t Au) from 0m (surface)

Historic drilling at the project indicated the presence of rare, disseminated sulphides related to zones of gold mineralisation. The presence of substantial sulphides, which includes pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite, suggests that the mineral project may actually be more prolific than previously thought with additional prospectivity for base metals.

The way forward

Tempest plans to –

  • Conclude the ongoing drilling program at Area C with additional infill and extension drill planning in progress.
  • Geochemical laboratory results are due to be released in Q1 2022.
  • Fieldwork and siteworks for the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) cofounded the drilling program at the Meleya project.
