In the current scenario, Holista’s Healthy Food Ingredients business remained one of the fastest growing divisions in FY21, with the Company expecting growth momentum to continue. In what comes as a significant development, revenue for the division jumped around 160% year on year to AU$771,000 in the first half of 2021.

What Holista’s Healthy Food Ingredients Division has to offer?

The adoption of wholesome food has emerged as the ideal solution to the deteriorating health scenario and rising diabetes cases in current times. Meanwhile, lifestyle changes with little time left for physical exercise have made improving dietary choices indispensable. 

Amid the growing demand and necessity for healthy food, Holista offers a suite of products that address significant concerns while allowing people to make healthier choices without compromising taste or quality.

GI LiteTM 

Holista offers GI LiteTM for healthier breads, tortillas, and other food products. GI Lite™ is made from a blend of okra, barley, lentils, and fenugreek. It does not affect taste, mouthfeel or food production methods.

Notably, glycemic index (GI) indicates the ability of different carbohydrate-containing foods to raise blood glucose. Thus, Holista’s mix of natural ingredients has proven effective against blood sugar levels caused due to the consumption of white bread and other bakery products.

But GI LiteTM can be used on more than just white breads. Holista’s pre-mix can also be used to make healthier flat breads, muffins, and noodles.

80LessTM sugar substitute

Holista is cashing in on the increasing awareness of the dangers of sugar through its 80LessTM sugar substitute, which despite having a 99% taste profile of sugar, has 80% fewer calories.

As the formulation and taste of 80LessTM is stable at all temperatures, it is idea for bakery, confectionery, beverages, frozen desserts, and ice cream.

Robust first half of Healthy Food Ingredients Division

Holista’s patented GI LiteTM premix and 80LessTM sugar substitute have remained at the forefront, driving sales in the Company’s Healthy Food Ingredients division, during the first half of 2021. 

US-based Costanzo’s Bakery, Inc., signed a three-year agreement to purchase GI LiteTM for usage in its new range of low-GI white breads. Low-GI white bread from Costanzo’s is retailed in several US supermarket chains like Tops, Wegmans, and Piggy Wiggy.

Costanzo’s commenced the supply of the world’s lowest GI clean-label white bread using Holista’s GI LiteTM to a number of US supermarket chains from April 2021. 

Meanwhile, Holista’s unique 80LessTM offering is sold to a handful of food and beverage companies, including Bursa Malaysia-listed, Rex Industries. Food and Beverage manufacturer Rex Industries uses Holista’s 80LessTM sugar substitute in around eight beverage products.

What paints a rosy outlook?

The Company is optimistic about the further performance of its Healthy Food Ingredients division, with good traction expected to persist owing to its unique value proposition to food and beverage products as a healthier alternative.

Meanwhile, with the sale of Costanzo’s low-GI white bread using GI LiteTM recently commenced in major US supermarkets, there lies a significant window for the product to grow over the short to long term.

Holista also aims to launch two new health products including cocoa milk powder product and Ready-to-Drink cocoa formulation. The new products offer another avenue for the Healthy Food division to expand sales and profits. 

In essence, Holista specialises in next-generation food research & development for improved taste and nutritional value. The Company’s all-natural products are sold globally and allow people to enjoy their favourite foods in a much healthier way.
