The historic Merge was meant to be a positive turning point for the second largest crypto by market cap. However, since the merge, Ethereum’s value is down 22 percent. So what is happening?

The historic Merge will see Ethereum’s network shift from a proof-of-work protocol to a proof-of- stake protocol. The primary benefit of this switch means that mining crypto tokens and non fungible tokens on Ethereum’s blockchain will require considerably less electricity, thus making crypto mining and NFT minting much more environmentally friendly.
