Bank of Nova Scotia is a Canadian financial institution that provides diversified banking and financial services.

It was founded in 1932 through a charter in Halifax, Canada.

The Schedule I chartered bank is the second oldest and is reportedly among the top financial institutions in North America.

Bank of Nova Scotia established the Global ATM Alliance, which include several members like BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank24, Bank of America and Westpac.
The company says that one can withdraw its membership from ATMs without paying access fees and machine-level surcharges are waived for all transactions done through Scotia Card.

It is also known as Scotiabank. The diversified financial institution provides banking services through 2,700 automated teller machines (ATMs) in Canada, 115 ATMs in Chile, 350 ATMs in Caribbean, 11 ATMs across Turkey and Caicos.

The bank also claims to provide innovative financial solutions to small and medium-size businesses.

The bank provides various other services like credit cards, personal loans, leasing, bank accounts, GICs, savings, payment, merchant services, business and student loans, etc.

It also provides the services through an omni-channel digital platform including online transfer and deposits, bill payment, bank statements, mobile cheque deposits, etc.

The Canadian chartered bank operates through various subsidiaries such as Tangerine, Colpatria, Scotia Life Financial, Scotia Securities, Inc and Scotia Howards Well

It also provides wealth management services in over 14 countries through Scotia iTrade, Scotia Wealth Management, and Jarislowsky Fraser.

The banks’ stocks are traded on the New York Stock Exchange with ‘BNS’ as the symbol. It is also included in the top 60 companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange in an index by S&P, known as S&P/TSX 60.
