Established in 1930 in Kazakhstan, KAZ Minerals Plc is a high-growth copper miner listed on London Stock Exchange. After the independence of Kazakhstan, the company was privatised and renamed as KAZ Minerals. The company is one of the largest copper miners in Kazakhstan with over 15,000 employees, and is focused on big scale, and low-cost open pit mining in the CIS region, and completed greenfield mining projects.
The company operates open pit copper mines in the Pavlodar and East Region of Kazakhstan, which is known as Bozshakol and Aktogay, and three underground mines, associated with two concentrators in Kazakhstan and a copper-gold mine in Kyrgyzstan. The company is acquired by Nova Resources BV in April 2021 and delisted from the LSE. It got listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange in May 2021.
