In 2004, On The Beach Group Plc started off as a startup in a terraced house in Macclesfield, England as an online retailer of beach holidays. Today, the company is a leading online retailer that provides low price short-haul beach holidays in the UK and that are easily available for the customers. Its technology help customers to book their flights, hotels from million of flights and hotels through its online channels and apps. On The Beach has 20% market share of the UK and rest is dominated by its competitors TUI Travel and Jet2. Every year, the company offers travel services to 1.5 million happy customers through its multi-device platforms. Its long-term goal is to be Europe’s leading online retailer for beach holidays and for which it is continuously exploring opportunities to grow and deliver the best experience to its customers.

The company mainly has five brands: Classic Collection Holidays, which sells luxury beach holidays through third party agencies. This segment contributes almost 24% of its revenue. Classic Package Holidays is an online platform, which offers third party offline travel agencies access to wide range of holiday products. It generates 2% of revenue for the group. Another segment is an online platform, Sunshine.co.uk, operates in the UK and provide travel products, and it generates 73% of the total revenue for the group.  eBeach offers travel products to Scandinavian customers.  To expand its reach, it launched eBeach for Denmark in 2018.

The company claims to be a market disruptor as it provides unique online beach holiday packages, which are flexible, innovative, has a strong demand among customers. In the near future, the company wants to explore other European markets, which is worth €55 billion, in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden.
