Skeena Resources Limited is a development and exploration company focused on precious metal mining.

It primarily operates in Canada’s Golden Triangle Region. The portfolio consists of two gold properties: Eskay Creek Mine and Snip Gold Mine.

Eskay Creek Mine was discovered in 1988 and was formerly a high-grade gold mine that produced 3.3 million ounces of yellow metal from 1994 to 2008, the company claims.

The mine consists of volcanic sulfide deposits and has a life of more than 14 years.

The operations at the Eskay Creek mine commenced in 1994 when multiple resource zones were discovered, including 21A and 21B.

The Eskay Creek project comprises two surface leases, eight mineral leases and numerous unpatented mining claims in a total of 6,151 hectares of land. The property reportedly consists of well-established infrastructure with access to road, a 287-kV NW transmission line and a hydroelectricity power station.

Snip Gold Mine

Cominco geologist Ted Muraro discovered the Western Canada-based vein mineralization in 1964. However, the property remained dormant until 1986, when a joint venture between Cominco and Netolitzky-led Delaware Resources started drilling operations at the property.

In July 2017, Skeena acquired Snip mine property from Barrick Gold. It presently has rights to one mining lease and eight mineral claims spread in 4,546 hectares of land. The company claims that between 1991 to 1999, the gold mine produced one million ounces of precious metal.

The mining company also intends to re-examine drill intercepts on this property, which many indicate mineralization that is consistent with well-established infrastructure and rising gold prices.

In July 2020, the mining company released a mineral resource estimate which indicated 244,000 ounces of hosted high-grade gold resource.
