Denison Mines Corp focuses on clean energy exploration and develops uranium properties in Canada’s Athabasca Basin.


The company was initially established as International Uranium Corporation in May 1997 under the laws of Ontario. However, in 2006, the company merged its operations with Denison Mines Inc, and the combined entity was branded as Denison Mines Corp.


The Toronto-based conducts numerous exploration and development activities that include mining, milling, extraction, processing, and selling uranium and vanadium. The company has operations in Canada, Zambia, Mongolia and the United States.


Denison holds 90 percent ownership in the Wheeler River joint venture project. The flagship uranium project is located in the eastern Athabasca Basin. The company claims that project's probable mineral reserves are estimated at 109.4 million pounds of triuranium octoxide.


The company’s exploration and development portfolio consists of the following projects:


Midwest Project


Denison owns a 22.17 per cent stake through a joint venture agreement with Orano Canada, which holds a 74.83 per cent stake in the project. The project hosts Midwest Main and Midwest A deposits with an estimated indicated mineral resources of 50.8 million pounds of triuranium octoxide.


McClean Lake Project


The uranium exploration company has 22.5 per cent interest in the project, while Orano Canada is the operator and holds the remaining stake. It consists of a processing facility and various uranium deposits such as Sue D, McClean (N), Sue E, Caribou deposits.


Hook Carter Project


The company has an 80 per cent ownership stake in the project, which consists of uranium prospects along the 15-kilometer area in Patterson Lake Corridor.

Denison owns a 66.9 per cent stake in Waterbury Property that consists of Tthe Heldeth Túé and Huskie uranium deposits. In addition, the project borders with several high-grade uranium deposits, including the Roughrider and Midwest projects.


Denison Mines Corp also takes over the reclamation projects and provides decommissioning, maintenance, and environmental services for the post-closure of mines through the Closed Mines Group (formerly known as Denison Environmental Services).


On August 3, 2021, the Canadian uranium company acquired from UEX Corporation 50 per cent ownership of JCU (Canada) Exploration Company, Limited.
