In June 2015, it acquired premium branded and select service of nine hotels located in Kansa, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Illinois. These hotels are reportedly licensed by Hilton, IHG, Carlson and Rezidor Hotel group. In September 2015, the firm owned five railway hotels in New Mexico, Belen, South Dakota, Revanna and Nebraska. Later that year, the company reportedly acquired a select-service hotel in Florida and owned three midwestern Embassy Suites in Columbus, Cleveland, Ohio and two embassy suites in Dallas. In addition, the portfolio consisted of over 133 hotel properties at the end of 2015.
In 2017, AHIP entered into an agreement with Wyndham Hotel Group, wherein the latter rebranded the firms’ 44 hotels under different brands, including 14 hotels under Baymont Inn, 28 as Travellodge and two as Super 8 hotels.
AHIP’s properties are located in urban markets and key transportation corridors. It is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol ‘HOT.UN’.
Aimbridge Hospitality acts as the operator for AIHP. It is a US-based company that owns approximately 67 AHIP hotels and manages hotel properties in Dallas, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, and Puerto Rico.
