Payment platform operator Sezzle Inc. (ASX:SZL) on Wednesday (16 November 2022) reported AU$18 million of total income during the month ending on 31 October 2022. It represents an increase of 18% within a year and a surge of 8.7% within a month.
Meanwhile, Sezzle’s shares were trading at AU$0.54 apiece, up 1.87% at 10:58 AM AEDT. Including today’s gain, the share price surged by 6.86% in the past five trading sessions and fell by 82.13% on a year-to-date basis.
Key financial highlights of October business update
- Sezzle said that its initiative of US$60 million in annualised cost savings and revenue is on track and expected to be fully rolled out in the first quarter of the financial year 2023 (FY23).
- In October, the net loss stood at US$1.5 million. For comparison, the average monthly net loss was US$8.6 million in 4QFY21.
- The adjusted EBITDA loss was US$0.2 million. For comparison, the average monthly adjusted EBITDA loss was US$8.2 million in 4QFY21.
- As of 15 November 2022, the Sezzle Premium had more than 105,000 active subscribers.

A recent update by Sezzle
On 10 November 2022, the company announced its partnership with Sensepass. It is a centralised hub that allows any digital payment which is chosen by the shopper, ranging from debit cards to Coinbase. Sensepass supports the hospitality industry, college bookstores, retailers, and clients like Ramsey Outdoor, Kith, town Shop and numerous restaurants.
Under the partnership, Sezzle users can make digital transactions by tapping their phone on a Sensepass enabled device and then choosing Sezzle.
Youakim said on the development that Sezzle’s digital payment platform becomes an additional option for in-store shoppers.
