Highlights
- Final assays from Canegrass drilling program have returned new zones of vanadium mineralisation in the previously undrilled area.
- The latest results confirm that VTM mineralisation continues between the Mineral Resource Estimates (MRE) at Kinks and Fold Nose.
- The Company expects to complete MRE in the December quarter.
Viking Mines Ltd (ASX: VKA) has revealed the final set of assays from the ~7,500m drilling campaign concluded at the Canegrass Battery Minerals Project, Western Australia.
Drilling at the Fold Nose to Kinks South (FN to KS) target has demonstrated new VTM (Vanadiferous Titanomagnetite) mineralisation zones in the previously undrilled area.
These latest assay results present the opportunity to grow the resource base with further drilling.
More
As part of the drilling campaign, four drill holes for 530 metres were drilled at the FN to KS target area. The target was defined through field mapping, geophysics and rock chip sampling.
The area tested is over 3km in strike length, with no historical drilling, and the VTM horizon remains untested.
The aim of the drilling program is to show that the target horizon continues all over the project area and to determine the potential of the target area.
VTM mineralisation has been intersected across all four drillholes. In two holes, the grades are more than 0.5% V2O5, which warrant further follow-up.

The drillhole spacing ranges from 180m to 800m at the target area, and a single hole has been drilled on each section line. Viking said that there is a substantial amount of further potential to follow up on the reported results to define thick accumulations of VTM mineralisation. Drilling at the Kinks, Kinks South and Fold Nose target areas has projected that thick zones can occur from 600 meters (Kinks) to 1.5km (Kinks South).

Data Source: Company update
Viking Mines has reported results for all 45 holes as part of the drilling programme, which has been successful as significant VTM intercepts were returned from all the targets tested. With updates to the Fold Nose and Kinks Resources and inclusion of the newly discovered Kinks South area, the company expects substantial improvement in the quality of the total MRE, expected to be finalised during the December quarter.
