An Australian-headquartered firm, BPH Energy Limited (ASX:BPH) is a diversified entity that holds significant investments in different sectors, including biotechnology, resources and medical cannabis.
The Company hold investments into biotechnology sector through Cortical Dynamics Ltd and Molecular Discovery Systems, oil & gas sector through Advent Energy Ltd, and medical cannabis sector via Patagonia Genetics Pty Ltd.
BPH holds significant stake in oil and gas exploration and development firm, Advent, that holds offshore and onshore exploration and near-term development assets around Australia. Advent’s assets comprise PEP11 permit (85 per cent) in the offshore Sydney Basin and RL1 (100 per cent) in the onshore Bonaparte Basin in the Northern territory.
The exploration permit, PEP11, is prospective for natural gas situated in the Offshore Sydney Basin. It is a major offshore exploration zone with large scale structuring and potentially multi- Tcf (Trillion cubic feet) gas charged Permo-Triassic reservoirs. Advent has exhibited substantial gas generation and migration within the PEP11 permit, with the mapped prospects and leads highly prospective for the gas discovery.
The total P50 Prospective Resource computed for the PEP11 prospect inventory is 5.9 Trillion cubic feet, with a net 5 Trillion cubic feet to Advent (85%WI). The two biggest prospects in the inventory are Baleen and Fish.
Besides, Advent holds Retention Licence RL1 (166 square kilometres in area) in the Northern Territory, which covers the Weaber Gas Field, originally discovered in 1985. The Bonaparte Basin is a highly prospective petroliferous basin, with considerable reserves of oil and gas.
BPH also holds substantial interest in Cortical Dynamics, which is an Australian based medical device technology firm. Cortical has developed an industry disruptive brain function monitor, the Brain Anaesthesia Response Monitor (BARM), to better identify the impact of anaesthetic agents on brain activity.
