For instance, some people might like to travel to savor exotic or nutritious food, meditate, explore alternative therapies, etc. Today, rising stress levels and lifestyle diseases highlight the significance of wellness.

No wonder then why the global wellness travel economy was worth US$4.5 trillion in 2018, according to the Global Wellness Economy report published by the Global Wellness Institute (GWI). Wellness travel promotes physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing through various activities. For example, yoga, cycling, surfing, and hill-climbing could be part of the itinerary.

Therefore, wellness travel is much more than a regular vacation. It is about exploring the world and savouring the moment. Physical activities can rejuvenate the body and mind. One may learn new skills or a food recipe to rid stress or have peace of mind in the lap of nature.

One can work on weight loss by choosing to run on a beach or in the forest. However, weight loss is not a primary purpose for wellness travel. It is also seen that travellers often overindulge themselves during trips, which may sometimes lead to a feeling of guilt because some activities may not be part of your daily routine and may be considered reckless. Still, traveling gives a sense of freedom, although it may not necessarily bring you inner peace.
