BT Group Plc

BT Group Plc (LON: BT.A) is a telecommunications company based out of London, United Kingdom, that provides broadband, mobile communication and fixed-line communication services as well as television broadcasting in the United Kingdom.

BT.A Third Quarter Results

On 30th January 2020, the company announced results for its third quarter as well as nine months ended 31st December 2019. The company highlighted that it had made the 5G technology live in around 50 locations in the United Kingdom. In the nine months ended 31st December 2019, the company reported a marginal decline in revenue of 2 per cent year on year from £17.558 billion to £17.246 billion. The decline in the revenue has been attributed to the decrease in traditional fixed voice usage. Another reason for the decline in revenue was the decision to reduce low margin businesses. Global businesses were the major driver of this reduction, with global business revenue declining by 7 per cent year on year for the nine months period ended 31st December 2019. The profit before tax for the period was reported to be at £1.911 billion for the period, while the profit after tax was reported to be at £1.526 billion. The Adjusted EBITDA for the period was down by 3 per cent year on year from £5.533 billion in the nine months ended 31st December 2018 to £5.9 billion in the reported period.

As on 30th January 2020, at 11:30 A.M (Greenwich Mean Time), by the time of writing this report, the BT Group Plc share was trading at a price of GBX 165.58 per share on the London Stock Exchange market, a decline in the value of 5.57 per cent or GBX 9.76 per share, as opposed to the price of the share on the previous trading day, which had been reported to be at GBX 175.34 per share. The company’s market capitalisation stood at a value of GBP 17.327 billion, in reference to the current price of the company’s share on the London Stock Exchange by the time this reported was being written.

It has been reported that the BT Group Plc share had lost around 29.24 per cent in value, in the last twelve months, since January 30, 2019, when the share was trading at a price of GBX 234.00 per share at the time of the close of the market. It has also been reported that the company’s share has lost approximately 13.88 per cent, in the last six months, in comparison with the share price of GBX 192.26 at the time of the close of the market as on July 30, 2019. BT Group Plc’s share has been reported to have lost 14.34 per cent, in last 30 days’ time from the share price of GBX 193.30 per share, set as on December 30, 2019.

Diageo Plc

Diageo Plc (LON:DGE) is a London, the United Kingdom based alcoholic beverages company, which, through its various brands, engages in the selling of alcoholic beverages in the UK.

DGE Interim Results

The company announced its interim results for the six months ended 31st December 2019 on 30th January 2020. A growth of 4 per cent year on year was reported in net sales from £6.908 billion in H1 FY 2019 to £7.20 billion in H1 FY 2020. There was a marginal increase in the operating profit for the period, which was reported to be at £2.442 billion in H1 FY 2020. The profit attributable to shareholders was reported to have decreased by 6 per cent year on year from £1.976 billion in H1 FY 2019 to £1.865 billion in H1 FY 2020. Basic earnings per share for the period were also down by 2 per cent and were reported at GBX 79.2 per share. The company proposed an interim dividend at GBX 27.41 per share, an increase of 5 per cent, as opposed to the interim dividend declared in H1 FY 2019 at GBX 26.1 per share, in line with the company’s progressive dividend policy.

As on 30th January 2020, at 11:35 A.M (Greenwich Mean Time), by the time of writing this report, the Diageo Plc Share was trading at a price of GBX 3028.00 per share on the London Stock Exchange market, a decline in the value of 2.64 per cent or GBX 82.00 per share, as opposed to the price of the share on the previous trading day, which had been reported to be at GBX 3110.00 per share. The company’s market capitalisation stood at a value of GBP 72.682 billion, in reference to the current price of the company’s share on the London Stock Exchange by the time this reported was being written.

It has been reported that the Diageo Plc share had gained around 9.24 per cent in value, in the last twelve months, since January 30, 2019, when the share was trading at a price of GBX 2772.00 per share at the time of the close of the market. It has also been reported that the company’s share has lost approximately 12.19 per cent, in the last six months, in comparison with the share price of GBX 3448.50 at the time of the close of the market as on July 30, 2019. Diageo Plc’s share has been reported to have lost 5.52 per cent, in last 30 days’ time from the share price of GBX 3205.00 per share, set as on December 30, 2019.

Centamin Plc

Centamin Plc (LON:CEY) is a mining company based out of Jersey and operating in various African countries, engaging in activities of precious metal mining.

CEY Fourth Quarter Results

On 30th January 2020, the company reported its fourth-quarter production update for the period ended 31st December 2019. The comparison for this production update was made with both the third quarter 2019 production of the company as well to the production in the Q4 in 2018. Gross revenue was reported to be at US$ 204.1 million in the fourth-quarter, generated from 137,065 ounces in gold sales at an average selling price of US$ 1,487 per ounce. During the entire FY 2019, Gross revenue was reported to be at US$ 658.1 million, generated from 470,020 ounces in gold sales at an average selling price of US$ 1,399 per ounce. The company reported that the cash and liquid assets balance stood at US$ 348.9 million as on 31st December 2019, increasing by approximately US$ 60 million since 30th September 2019. The management of the company also proposed a final dividend of US Cents 6.0 per share, taking the total dividend for the entire year to US Cents 10.0 per share.

As on 30th January 2020, at 11:40 A.M (Greenwich Mean Time), by the time of writing this report, the Centamin Plc share was trading at a price of GBX 135.2980 per share on the London Stock Exchange market, an increase in the value of 5.25 per cent or GBX 6.748 per share, as opposed to the price of the share on the previous trading day, which had been reported to be at GBX 128.65 per share. The company’s market capitalisation stood at a value of GBP 1.487 billion, in reference to the current price of the company’s share on the London Stock Exchange by the time this reported was being written.

It has been reported that the Centamin Plc share had gained around 15.92 per cent in value, in the last twelve months, since January 30, 2019, when the share was trading at a price of GBX 116.80 per share at the time of the close of the market. It has also been reported that the company’s share has gained approximately 11.03 per cent, in the last six months, in comparison with the share price of GBX 121.95 at the time of the close of the market as on July 30, 2019. Centamin Plc’s share has been reported to have gained 9.77 per cent, in last 30 days’ time from the share price of GBX 123.35 per share, set as on December 30, 2019.
