Multi-commodity company Haranga Resources Limited (ASX: HAR, FRA: 65E0) has appointed Mr Peter Batten as its new Managing Director. His appointment will be effective immediately, says the firm.

Mr Batten holds around three decades of domestic and international experience in exploration, operational and technical processes across a variety of positions at different companies.

The new addition in the leadership team comes a few weeks before HAR plans to outline its maiden JORC mineral resource for Senegal-based Saraya uranium project. Spread over an area of 1,650km2 and based in the region of producing mines, the Saraya uranium project holds major exploration potential.

The company anticipates that Mr Batten will make a significant contribution in progressing developments across the Saraya Project. Previously, he played crucial role in advancing activities at White Canyon and Bannerman.

He has also completed a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate at the Muchea West silica sand project of Carbine Resources Limited (ASX: CRB).

An insight into Mr. Batten’s profile

Qualified as a geologist, Mr Batten possesses years of industry experience as well as corporate leadership skills in international exploration and operations management for diverse commodities. With this expertise, HAR will be able to advance the development process of its minerals’ portfolio.

He has served as the non-Executive Director at Tambourah Metals (ASX: TMB) and Managing Director at Carbine Resources Ltd (ASX: CRB). He has served at the position of the Managing Director at Bannerman Resources (ASX: BMN) as well. He has also worked as Technical Director at Kalia Ltd (ASX: KLH).

Mr Batten made a significant contribution at White Canyon Uranium Ltd (delisted, ASX: WCU) by inking a toll milling and sale agreement for the company’s Utah production with Canada’s Denison Mines. With this, WCU emerged as the first company to win a new mining licence for uranium in Utah in three decades.
