Highlights:
High-grade rock chip, channel, and soil samples from the Pepas Prospect significantly enhance the region's exploration potential.
Historical sampling at the El Cedro and El Roble prospects indicates a promising porphyry system, prompting further investigation.
Orosur Mining Inc. is progressing towards regaining 100% ownership of the Anzá Project, with plans for future drilling in the Pepas area.
Orosur Mining Inc. (LSE:OMI) has provided an update on exploration activities at its Anzá Project in Colombia, emphasizing the prospectivity of the Pepas Prospect and historical data from El Cedro and El Roble. The project, located in the Mid-Cauca belt approximately 50 km west of Medellin, encompasses several exploration licenses, which may expand as the company concludes its Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) to regain full ownership.
Fieldwork at the Pepas Prospect, initiated in late 2021, identified a small but promising area of altered tuffs and volcanic rocks. Extensive mapping and sampling revealed numerous high-grade gold results, with some assays exceeding several grams per tonne. Notably, channel sampling of a silicified tuff outcrop returned assay values as high as 95.5 g/t Au, and drilling results from hole PEP-001 showed a composite intersection of 150.90 meters with significant gold mineralization.
In 2024, geological teams conducted further detailed sampling and mapping of the Pepas site, identifying high-grade mineralization over a broad area and uncovering two abandoned artisanal mining tunnels. Channel sampling from these tunnels produced assay results up to 195 g/t Au, reinforcing the area’s potential for significant gold deposits.
In parallel, exploration at the El Cedro and El Roble prospects indicates the presence of a possibly interconnected porphyry system, with extensive quartz veining and highly anomalous gold values. Following the completion of the SPA, Orosur plans to mobilize teams for more detailed geological mapping to define drill locations.
Orosur's CEO, Brad George, highlighted the project’s considerable potential, particularly at the Pepas Prospect, and indicated plans for upcoming drilling activities.
