Technology Minerals PLC (LSE:TM1) has announced that its 48%-owned battery recycling associate, Recyclus, exceeded its budgeted performance for July. This milestone reflects Recyclus’s capacity to handle a diverse array of battery types, including those from vehicles, e-bikes, and waste management clients. The company's robust performance in this period underscores its growing operational efficiency and market reach.

A notable advancement for Recyclus is the commencement of operations at its new Discharge and Dismantle Unit (DDU) located at its Wolverhampton facility. This new unit is significant as it represents the first industrial-scale, full-service solution in the UK designed to manage the entire battery recycling process—from collection to black mass separation. The DDU enables Recyclus to discharge and dismantle lithium-ion batteries on-site before proceeding with further processing. This development not only enhances the company’s processing capabilities but also positions it as a leader in the UK’s battery recycling sector.

In addition to the DDU, Recyclus has deployed 50 'safe boxes' under its Libox inventory to commercial clients through various contracts. These safe boxes are critical for ensuring the secure handling and storage of batteries, further supporting Recyclus’s commitment to safety and operational efficiency. The commercial team is also focused on producing additional safe boxes to meet growing demand.

Robin Brundle, Chairman of Technology Minerals and a director at Recyclus, emphasized that July was a particularly successful month for the company. The surpassing of battery throughput targets demonstrates Recyclus’s ability to effectively scale its operations. Brundle also noted that the company has made substantial progress across multiple sectors within the UK market, reflecting the effectiveness of its strategies and its growing influence in the battery recycling industry.

Overall, Technology Minerals PLC’s announcement highlights Recyclus’s impressive operational achievements and its role in advancing battery recycling technology in the UK. With the new DDU operational and the safe box deployment underway, Recyclus is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory and contribute significantly to the sustainability and efficiency of battery recycling processes. The company’s advancements align with broader environmental goals and reflect its commitment to leading the industry in innovation and performance.
