Sustainable technology developer Neometals Ltd (ASX: NMT & AIM: NMT) has announced the appointment of Mr Chris Kelsall as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 1 July 2024. This follows an extensive executive search to find a successor for the long-serving CFO and Company Secretary, Mr Jason Carone, who has decided to pursue new opportunities after almost 17 years with the company.

Transition in Leadership

Neometals has appointed Chris Kelsall as its new Chief Financial Officer, taking over from Jason Carone, who has been a pivotal part of the company for nearly two decades. Carone’s resignation marks the end of an era for Neometals, but the company is optimistic about the future under Kelsall’s financial leadership.

Extensive Executive Search

The appointment follows a thorough and comprehensive search to ensure that the new CFO would be well-equipped to guide Neometals through its next phase of growth. Chris Kelsall emerged as the ideal candidate due to his extensive background in finance and his proven track record in various sectors relevant to Neometals' operations.

A Wealth of Experience

Chris Kelsall brings over 30 years of experience in corporate finance, energy, cleantech, resources, and commercial law. His extensive resume includes:

- Global Investment Banking: With 15 years of experience in investment banking, Kelsall has successfully structured and executed corporate financing and capital markets transactions across Australia, Europe, and Asia. This global perspective will be invaluable as Neometals continues to expand its international footprint.

- LSE AIM Experience: Kelsall served as Finance Director and Company Secretary for Mediterranean Oil & Gas plc, an oil and gas explorer and developer listed on the London Stock Exchange's AIM market. This role honed his skills in financial analysis, planning, and operational risk management.

- Leadership in Fusion Energy: His tenure as CFO and CEO at Tokamak Energy Limited, a fusion energy technology developer, demonstrates his ability to lead and innovate in cutting-edge technology sectors.

Strategic Objectives

Neometals believes that Chris Kelsall is exceptionally well-placed to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives. His strong background in finance and risk management, combined with his commercial acumen, will be crucial as Neometals continues to develop and implement sustainable process technologies.

Kelsall’s appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Neometals’ financial strategy. His experience in various high-stakes financial environments positions him to help the company navigate the complexities of the global market and secure the necessary capital to fuel its innovative projects.
