Highlights
- New Geophysics Insights: Studies reveal key mineralised features along a 2km section of the 20km-long Yarrol Fault.
- Fully Funded Drilling Campaign: Targeted drilling set to begin in Q2 2025, focusing on expanding and defining known mineralisation.
- Strategic Growth Focus: Exploration aims to extend grade continuity and test new targets to unlock the project’s full gold potential.
Mila Resources Plc (LSE:MILA), a post-discovery exploration accelerator, has announced a promising update on its Yarrol Project in South-Eastern Queensland, where advanced gold targets, alongside copper and base metal anomalies, are showing significant potential for growth.
Geophysics Unlocks New Exploration Opportunities
The company recently completed a Ground Magnetic Survey, enhanced with 3D Unconstrained Inversion, providing a clearer understanding of the mineralised features along a 2km stretch of the 20km-long Yarrol Fault. This structure is believed to be part of a larger gold mineralising system.
The analysis identified low-magnetic zones east of an intrusive orebody, where historic high-grade gold intercepts are concentrated. Mila’s exploration team interprets this as evidence of mineralising fluids altering the host rock, reducing its magnetic signature — a valuable exploration indicator.
Although some high-grade intercepts lie outside these low-magnetic zones, the company plans to conduct further investigation to understand their significance and potential connection to the broader system.
Targeted Drilling Campaign to Begin in Q2 2025
Building on these findings, Mila is now designing a focused drilling program, fully funded by existing cash reserves. The campaign will target priority areas to:
- Extend grade continuity: Drill deeper and along strike in the historic resource area to follow up on previously identified mineralised structures.
- Expand the mineralisation footprint: Start with the Yarrol North and Central targets, then step out to test new gold targets along the Yarrol Fault.
- Leverage new geological insights: Use the latest structural interpretations to refine exploration and drive resource growth.
Unlocking the Gold Potential of Queensland
Mila Resources is positioned to accelerate growth at Yarrol, with a refined exploration model and a clear pathway to earning 100% ownership of the project. Any discovery could mark a step-change in gold resource potential, reinforcing Mila’s status as an emerging player in Queensland’s rich gold belt.
