ECR Minerals plc (LSE:ECR), an exploration and development company specializing in gold projects in Australia, has released initial findings from its soil sampling program at the Lolworth Project in Queensland. The results highlight promising gold mineralization, paving the way for further exploration in the region.

Promising Soil Sampling Results

Since early May 2024, two field teams have been actively sampling soil at key locations within the Lolworth Project. The initial results have revealed notable gold concentrations at two main prospects:

  • Dagwood Prospect: Out of 41 soil samples, 4 returned gold concentrations exceeding 1.00 ppm (parts per million), while all samples showed gold levels of 0.05 ppm or higher. These results are significant as they suggest high-grade pockets within the broader gold trend at Dagwood.
  • Gorge Creek Diggings Prospect: Among 15 soil samples, all returned gold concentrations greater than 0.05 ppm, with one exceptional sample revealing 16.85 ppm Au. This high-grade result is particularly noteworthy and suggests a strong gold presence at this prospect.

Geochemical Trends and Next Steps

The geochemical analysis indicates that the gold mineralization trends at the Lolworth Project are quite promising. At Gorge Creek Diggings, the gold trends appear to strike NNW (north-northwest), with additional nuggety gold discoveries noted further north along the strike. This implies that the gold source is likely nearby, prompting the expansion of soil sampling to these prospective areas.

Similarly, at the Dagwood Prospect, the geochemical trends suggest a northerly strike. Outcrop mapping and rock chip sampling are now underway to further investigate these trends. The presence of coarse gold in the soil samples suggests that the gold has not traveled far from its source, indicating potential for high-grade discoveries close to the identified gold trends.

Operational and Financial Position

ECR Minerals remains fully funded for its exploration activities in Queensland and Victoria throughout 2024. The company’s financial stability supports its ongoing and planned operations, allowing it to advance its exploration efforts confidently.

Future Outlook

The initial soil sampling results from Lolworth Project provide a positive outlook for ECR Minerals. The high-grade results and promising geochemical trends are expected to guide further exploration and drilling activities. With the high potential indicated by the recent findings, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on this opportunity and expand its gold resources.

ECR Minerals' focus now shifts to exploring the eastern part of the tenement area, where it aims to test for additional gold mineralization, as well as for Niobium and Tantalum. The company’s strategic approach and financial backing put it in a strong position to achieve significant discoveries and advance its gold exploration agenda.
