Highlights:
- Visible Gold Discovery: Artemis identified visible gold and mineralised veins at Sing Six and Sing Well, highlighting a significant mineralisation zone.
- Structural Corridor: The prospects lie within the Regal Thrust structural corridor, which hosts key shears and faults, indicating strong exploration potential.
- Future Exploration: Follow-up sampling and mapping suggest proximity to larger gold sources, with recent findings driving further exploration momentum.
Artemis Resources Ltd (LSE:ARV, ASX:ARV) has reported significant gold discoveries during its ground reconnaissance program at the Sing Six and Sing Well prospects, located within its Karratha Gold Project in Western Australia. These discoveries, made just 6 kilometres southwest of the Titan gold discovery, showcase visible gold and mineralised veins, marking a potential breakthrough in the company's exploration efforts.
Visible and Vein-Hosted Gold
Executive director George Ventouras praised the exploration team for identifying and collecting visible gold samples, highlighting the potential of the Sing Six area. “We are encouraged by the level of surface and vein-hosted gold that has been discovered, especially in a known mineralised area such as Sing Six,” Ventouras said. He expressed optimism that these findings could lead to further exploration success and help identify the gold source.
The field program involved extensive mapping and chip sampling across a two-kilometre stretch, where a total of 201 samples were collected. Notably, angular free gold was found at the surface across various locations within a 200- to 300-metre-wide shear zone. Additionally, visible gold was identified within outcropping quartz and iron oxide veins.
Mineralisation Zone and Findings
The reconnaissance revealed intense foliation and alteration in the host rocks associated with mineralised veins along the two-kilometre NE-SW trending zone. The Sing Six and Sing Well prospects lie within the Regal Thrust structural corridor, which hosts multiple shears and faults, making the area a prime location for further gold exploration.
The area was previously explored in 2020, with a 14-hole aircore drilling program reporting an intersection of 2 metres at 0.97 g/t gold from 9 metres. Follow-up work in May 2024 sought to better understand the distribution of veining, structures, and alteration zones, which often suggest a larger mineralised system.
Promising Exploration Potential
Recent fieldwork identified mineralised veins across a 2-kilometre area, with visible gold found in surface samples and outcropping veins. The discovery of coarse, angular free gold along a 1-kilometre trend further suggests proximity to gold sources, raising hopes for future exploration success in this promising region.
Artemis Resources continues to push forward with its exploration, confident that these latest discoveries may unlock the next major gold find in the region.
