Amaroq Minerals Ltd., an independent mine development company focused on gold and strategic mineral assets in Southern Greenland, has announced the successful completion of the first gold pour at its cornerstone Nalunaq gold mine on 27 November 2024.
Successful First Gold Pour at Nalunaq
The Government of Greenland granted approval for Phase 1 Commissioning of the Nalunaq plant on 26 November 2024, allowing the operation to reach its nameplate capacity. The following day, 27 November 2024, marked a major milestone as the first gold pour took place, producing 1.2 kilograms (39 troy ounces) of gold after a 10-hour processing period.
This achievement represents a significant step forward in the development of the Nalunaq gold mine, which is expected to play a key role in Amaroq's growth trajectory.
Continued Optimisation and Phase 2 Commissioning
Amaroq plans to continue optimising the processing plant during the Phase 1 Commissioning period, with the goal of conducting regular weekly gold pours as operations ramp up.
Looking ahead, Phase 2 Commissioning, which will incorporate the flotation circuit, is scheduled for completion in Q2 2025. This will mark another key phase in the plant’s development, with the ramp-up to steady state expected in Q4 2025, achieving the plant’s capacity to process 260-300 tonnes per day of material at 12-16 g/t Au.
Future Updates and Mineral Resource Estimate
Amaroq also announced that an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE4) for the Nalunaq mine is expected to be published in Q1 2025, providing investors and stakeholders with an updated view of the mine’s potential.
