Telstra is working to fix a problem impacting calls on mobile phones.

The telco says triple zero calls have not been affected but has not revealed how many customers are experiencing issues or further details about the outage. 

"If you're having trouble with calls on your mobile this morning, we're working urgently to fix it," Telstra said on Twitter.

"We're sorry to mess with the start of your day,."

The company said customers were able to resolve the issue by switching airplane mode on and off.

Calls through Wi-Fi or apps like FaceTime and Messenger have not been impacted.
