Despite the current global uncertainties across the globe, the online sales in New Zealand seem to have hit new all-time highs. Online sales have been on a rise since the country along with the world went into a coronavirus induced lockdown, as buyers piled up on goods.

Black Friday weekend showed booming online shopping
As per the latest market reports, millions of dollars were spent online in annual sales made during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday in November.
The surge in online shopping will benefit retailers immensely from the same.
It has further been revealed that there were millions of parcels delivered after the Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday sale. There were parcels received each minute on Cyber Monday, showing how deeply people rely on online shopping in the current times.
With COVID-19 having locked people in their homes, the way of shopping has become different and people rely more and more on online modes.

Rising card usage for shopping
New Zealanders have been spending more on cell phones and laptops in November, with sectors like electronics performing much better than in 2019.
As per Stats NZ, total retail card spending increased 1.4% in November 2020, up by $85 million compared to same month last year.
Better internet, a necessity
The need for good broadband services has seen a surge and people are on quicker and smoother plans. In April 2020, a survey reported that there were fewer people changing their broadband plans, whereas in October the numbers have seen a significant rise by as much as 13%.
Majorly, fibre connections with 65% and unlimited data plans with 69% for extensive use have both grown, correspondingly by October 2020.
