Summary

  • Apple Inc launched a series of new products including iPad Pro and iMac loaded with upgraded and high-tech features.
  • Preorders can be booked from this week, and the shipments will begin later this month.

US-based tech giant, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), has been faring well amid the pandemic crisis. The demand for its services, wearables and iPhones has continued to heat up during the challenging business period, and just like several other tech firms, it has flourished during the COVID-19 period.

Having posted record revenue for three months ended in December 2020, the tech behemoth has unveiled many new products.

However, despite the exciting offerings, the company failed to impress the investors and the stock settled 1.28% below at USD 133.11 on 20 April 2021. Nevertheless, the stock experienced a marginal increase of 0.29% to close at USD 133.50 on 21 April 2020.

What's new?

Taking the excitement to the next level, the company held its first product launch event in 2021. The suite of new products launched at the event includes an updated iPad Pro with 5G and a colourful new iMac, among others.

iPad Pro

The new high-end iPad Pro has an improved screen backed by an array of LEDs, which gives the screen better colour resolution than the earlier version, making the iPad Pro look brighter. It also incorporates an improved USB-C connector, which gives it the ability to connect with monitors of higher resolution, and fast image downloading from the camera.

The new iPad Pro will have a front-facing camera of 12-megapixel with an ultrawide lens enabling it to pan automatically to keep the subjects in the shot for the user's photography requirements. The new iPad Pro uses the M1 chip, which is also being used in Apple's desktop computers. Earlier, it had an A-series chip.

iMac

The new iMacs will not have Intel processors; instead, they will be powered by company's custom M1 silicon. It will come in multiple colour options ranging from yellow, red, purple, blue, orange, green and silver. The new thin design makes the iMacs looks like a giant iPad. The computer volume is reduced by 50%, and it has a 24-inch built-in display with a more high-tech camera.

The company will commence taking preorders for these newly launched products this week, and shipments will be launched later in the month.
