Highlights
- Silver North Resources completed its 2024 drilling campaign at Haldane Property in the Keno Hill Silver District.
- The company tested the Main Fault for the first time, confirming it as a viable target with silver-bearing veins.
- Step-out tests and future exploration plans focus on advancing silver discovery in this historic district.
Silver North Resources Ltd. (TSXV:SNAP) has wrapped up its 2024 drilling efforts at the Haldane Property, located within the renowned Keno Hill Silver District in Yukon. The property, known for its silver-lead-zinc mineralization, lies about 25 kilometers west of Keno City. This year’s program marks the first attempt by the company to explore the Main Fault, complementing its ongoing investigation of other key geological structures within the area.
Haldane Property and Its Geological Potential
The Haldane Property spans a substantial area in the Keno Hill District, where it features quartz siderite veins that have previously yielded silver, lead, and zinc deposits. The West Fault target, previously a primary focus of the company, was included in this year's drilling program along with the Main Fault, a new exploration area. Both faults have shown characteristics that suggest the presence of the region's classic mineralization patterns.
Initial Drilling Results from the Main Fault
Silver North's exploration program tested the Main Fault with two key drill holes. Both intersected the target, showing significant promise. The first hole revealed moderately oxidized rocks but achieved strong recovery of the silver-bearing vein targets. The second hole went deeper, further confirming the geological potential of the Main Fault structure. These results align with the historic trends seen in the Keno Hill area, where similar breccias and siderite veins have been documented.
Expansion of Silver Targets
The exploration program's findings at the Main Fault have added a fourth viable target to the Haldane Property. This discovery supports the company’s strategy of identifying multiple zones of mineralization across the property. Silver-bearing structures with classic characteristics of the Keno Hill District were confirmed through this drilling phase, positioning the Main Fault as a key focus in future campaigns.
Further Exploration and Next Steps
A fourth drilling target, known as Bighorn, remains a priority for future exploration. Weather conditions limited access to this area during the current program, but preparations have been made for the next phase of drilling. Moving forward, the company plans to return to Bighorn and continue its work on other identified fault targets, building on the successes of the 2024 campaign.
