In the mining sector, Golden Arrow Resources Corp has announced the initiation of the permitting process for further drilling at its San Pietro iron-copper-gold-cobalt project located in Chile. This move is a significant step forward for the company as it aims to expand exploration activities at this key project.

Environmental Impact Statement Submission

Golden Arrow Resources Corp (TSXV:GRG) has engaged a Chilean environmental consultancy firm to prepare and submit an Environmental Impact Statement (DIA). Upon approval of the DIA, the company will be able to establish 80 new drill platforms at the San Pietro site, enhancing its drilling capabilities. The completion of this permitting process is essential for advancing the project's exploration objectives.

Current Drilling Program Status

The San Pietro project has been a central focus for Golden Arrow, with two-thirds of its phase-two drill program already completed. This drilling program is primarily centered around the Rincones target, which has shown promising signs of mineralization. The data collected during this phase will contribute to estimating the project's first mineral resource, providing valuable insights into the potential yield of the site.

Confidence in Long-Term Potential

Results from the completed drilling to date have reinforced the company’s confidence in the long-term potential of the San Pietro project. The focus on systematic exploration and data collection is designed to maximize understanding of the mineral resources available at the site. Golden Arrow’s VP of exploration and development, Brian McEwen, emphasized the commitment to continue building value through ongoing exploration efforts.

Environmental Studies and Future Plans

The environmental studies necessary for the DIA will include assessments of local flora, fauna, and archaeological sites to ensure compliance with Chilean regulations and standards. These studies are scheduled to commence in October, with the final submission of the DIA to Chilean authorities expected in the first quarter of 2025. This timeline highlights Golden Arrow's structured approach to exploration and environmental stewardship.

The progression of the permitting process and the ongoing drilling efforts at the San Pietro project signify Golden Arrow's dedication to advancing its mining initiatives in Chile. As the company works towards obtaining the necessary approvals, the focus remains on responsible exploration practices and thorough evaluation of the project’s resources.
