Globex Mining Enterprises Inc. (GMX – Toronto Stock Exchange, GLBXF – OTCQX International in the U.S.) is excited to announce that Brunswick Exploration Inc. (BRW-TSXV, BRWXF-OTCQB) has released promising initial drill results for 2024 from the Lac Escale (Mirage) property, located in the prolific James Bay area of Quebec. This development is significant for Globex, which retains a 3% Gross Metal Royalty on the Lac Escale claims and will receive annual advance royalty payments of $100,000 starting in the fifth year of the agreement.
The recent drill campaign focused on the Central Zone, specifically targeting the MR-6 and MR-3 dykes. The results indicate the presence of wide and well-mineralized intervals, showcasing the potential for substantial lithium deposits in this area. Highlights from the drill results include several new lithium pegmatites discovered around the MR-6 dyke, with significant dyke staking observed to the east and north of MR-6.
One of the standout findings is the identification of lithium mineralization extending over 1,000 meters of strike length across multiple drill holes in the Central Zone. Notable drill results include:
- Drill hole MR-24-73: Intersected a remarkable 1.75% Li2O over 40.4 meters.
- Drill hole MR-24-74: Showed 1.07% Li2O over 24 meters.
- Drill hole MR-24-72: Recorded 1.25% Li2O over 16 meters.
These near-surface intervals extending from the MR-6 dyke are particularly promising, suggesting a significant potential for economically viable lithium extraction.
Moreover, three new stacked dykes have been confirmed located approximately 250 meters east of MR-6. Drill hole MR-24-76 yielded impressive results with mineralization grades of 1.25% Li2O over 26 meters, 1.49% Li2O over 26.2 meters, and 1.93% Li2O over 22.35 meters. The consistent high-grade intervals highlight the extensive potential of the Lac Escale property and reinforce Brunswick Exploration's commitment to developing this promising site.
Looking ahead, Brunswick Exploration is set to commence metallurgical studies on the MR-6, MR-4, and MR-3 dykes in the coming weeks. These studies aim to assess the recovery rates and the overall viability of lithium extraction from these identified mineralized areas. This step is crucial as it will provide insights into the economic feasibility of future development and mining operations.
The ongoing exploration efforts at Lac Escale reflect a broader trend within the mining industry toward securing resources critical for the green energy transition. As demand for lithium rises, driven by the electric vehicle market and renewable energy storage solutions, projects like Lac Escale position companies like Globex and Brunswick at the forefront of this burgeoning sector.
