Highlights

  • Drilling underway at the 100%-owned Mineral Mountain porphyry copper project in Arizona.
  • The program targets copper-molybdenum mineralization and a large chargeability anomaly at depth.
  • Up to 2,000m of drilling planned across four approved locations.

Copper Fox Metals Inc. (TSXV:CUU), along with its wholly owned subsidiary Desert Fox Mineral Mountain Co., announced the commencement of diamond drilling operations at its 100%-owned Mineral Mountain porphyry copper project in Arizona.

The project lies within a northeast-trending porphyry copper belt, approximately 25 kilometers southwest of Rio Tinto and BHP’s Resolution copper-molybdenum deposit and 20 kilometers northeast of the Florence porphyry copper deposit.

The maiden drilling program is designed to test the depth extent of copper-molybdenum mineralization and the large, open-ended chargeability anomaly identified below surface.

Porphyry Copper Target Characteristics

Copper and molybdenum mineralization at Mineral Mountain spans an area approximately 4,500 meters long and up to 2,000 meters wide. This zone is underlain by a northeast-trending chargeability anomaly (>14mrad) measuring roughly 3,200 meters by 1,200 meters.

The mineralization is hosted in Laramide-age altered quartz monzonites and biotite granodiorites, rocks commonly associated with Arizona porphyry copper systems. The mineralization also contains enhanced gold concentrations and a notable amount of chalcocite, a secondary copper sulfide mineral typically resulting from supergene enrichment in Laramide-aged deposits.

Elmer B. Stewart, President and CEO of Copper Fox, commented:

“Copper Fox is excited to test this large, high-quality porphyry copper target that exhibits the mineralization, alteration, host rocks, and geophysical signatures typically observed at other porphyry copper deposit in Arizona. The size of the porphyry footprint and its location on a northeast trending porphyry copper belt that hosts some of the largest porphyry copper deposit in Arizona is an indication of the porphyry potential of the Mineral Mountain project.”

Drilling Plan and Objectives

The 2025 drilling program includes up to 2,000 meters of drilling across four approved locations under the Plan of Operations filed with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

The goal is to evaluate the vertical extent of surface mineralization and to identify the source of the underlying chargeability anomaly. The drilling design remains flexible, allowing for adjustments in hole depth depending on drill core observations such as copper mineralization intensity, veining, and alteration features. As a result, fewer than four holes may be completed if sufficient data is obtained.
