The COVID-19 pandemic left stock markets around the world in a lurch. But since the meltdown in March, markets have registered some improvement following government initiatives, cost effective measures and the latest progress in COVID vaccination. While the S&P/TSX broad index is up by 1.96 cent year-to-date, the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index grew over 33 per cent this year. A major portion of this growth is being driven by trending micro-cap stocks. Currently, stocks of mining companies Abitibi Royalties Inc (TSXV:RZZ), Solaris Resources Inc (TSXV:SLS), Rupert Resources Ltd (TSXV:RUP) and Los Andes Copper Ltd (TSXV:LA) are trending high on the TSXV Rising Stars, a list populated by the TMX Group.
