Anaergia signed a contract with Nortegas Renovables to deliver technology and services for a new anaerobic digestion plant in Spain.
The project is expected to generate C$18 million in revenue for Anaergia and will convert organic waste into renewable biomethane upon completion within two years.
Nortegas Renovables, a subsidiary of Nortegas Group, is expanding biomethane projects across Spain, supported by Anaergia’s expertise and technology.
Anaergia Inc. (TSX:ANRG; OTCQX:ANRGF), through its subsidiary Anaergia S.r.l., has entered into a contract with Nortegas Renovables, the renewable gas subsidiary of the Nortegas Group, to deliver services and technology for a new anaerobic digestion facility in Spain. The agreement, which forms part of Anaergia’s previously disclosed development plan, is expected to generate C$18 million in revenue for the Company.
Project Details
Under the terms of the contract, Anaergia will begin work on the facility this month. The project is scheduled for completion within two years and will focus on transforming organic waste into renewable biomethane. Anaergia will provide a full range of services alongside its proven technological solutions to support the construction and commissioning of the plant.
Once operational, the facility will contribute to Spain’s growing renewable gas infrastructure by producing sustainable biomethane, which can be used as a direct substitute for conventional natural gas. The project aligns with both companies’ goals of advancing the energy transition and promoting circular economy practices.

Commenting on the agreement, Felipe Requejo Sigüenza, Director General of Nortegas Renovables, highlighted the importance of the project: “Nortegas Renovables is increasingly playing a vital role in the renewable energy landscape.
