Baselode Energy and Forum Energy Metals initiate drilling in the Thelon Basin
Joint campaign focuses on multiple high-priority uranium zones
Baselode and Forum to merge into Geiger Energy, advancing northern Canada exploration
Baselode Energy Corp (TSX:FIND), listed on the TSX Venture Composite Index, operates in the uranium exploration sector, concentrating its efforts in Canada's northern regions. The company maintains a strategic presence in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin, known for its high-grade uranium resources, and recently expanded activities into Nunavut's Thelon Basin.
The company holds full ownership of four exploration projects—Bear, Catharsis, Hook, and Shadow—covering a large expanse of uranium-prospective territory. These assets are not burdened by underlying option agreements or royalties, allowing for streamlined project management and operational planning.
Exploration activities advance in Nunavut
Baselode Energy and Forum Energy Metals Corp (TSX:FMC) have commenced a collaborative drill program at the Aberdeen project in the Thelon Basin. The program includes a multi-hole campaign covering several zones identified through an integrated analysis of geological, geophysical, and geochemical datasets.
Initial drilling is focused on the Loki and Bjorn grids, areas noted for gravity low anomalies, significant clay alteration, and fault structures associated with elevated uranium levels. The companies aim to evaluate structural corridors and subsurface compositions aligned with prior exploration findings.
Formation of Geiger Energy to consolidate assets
Following recent developments, Baselode Energy and Forum Energy Metals have announced plans to merge and form a new uranium exploration entity, Geiger Energy. The new company will unify exploration programs and assets in both Nunavut and the Athabasca Basin, aiming to centralize operational strategies across multiple uranium-rich jurisdictions.
Field preparations at the Aberdeen site began in late June with the establishment of an exploration camp. Drilling operations initiated in July and are expected to continue across several identified high-interest targets. The campaign is structured to maximize coverage within defined geological zones of interest.
Focus on near-surface basement-hosted uranium
Baselode Energy’s core strategy remains centered on uncovering near-surface, basement-hosted uranium deposits in Canada's northern territories. The company’s land holdings in Saskatchewan and Nunavut position it among the prominent exploration groups advancing the uranium sector within the TSX Venture Composite Index.
All four Baselode projects lie outside of sandstone cover, a factor that may simplify exploration efforts and reduce drilling complexity. With full project ownership and no encumbrances from third-party agreements, the company maintains operational flexibility across its expanding exploration footprint.
As drilling progresses at Aberdeen and merger plans advance toward the formation of Geiger Energy, Baselode continues its focus on uranium resource discovery across Canada's established and emerging nuclear energy corridors.
