- Over 4 km of mineral-rich strike identified.
- LiDAR reveals hundreds of historical mining features.
- Early results suggest significant antimony and gold potential.
Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX:RML) has recently made a significant stride in its exploration activities at the Drake East Project in New South Wales, Australia. Utilizing advanced Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology, the company has uncovered a wealth of historical mining workings indicative of rich antimony and gold mineralization.
The Drake East Project, already known for hosting fifteen antimony, fifty gold, and three copper prospects over an approximate 15 kilometers, has been further illuminated by this latest LiDAR survey. The comprehensive interpretation of the data has revealed 534 pits, 27 shafts, and 15 adits spread across the project area. Moreover, the survey has identified 56 linear features and veins spanning a collective strike length of 4,150 meters, highlighting the extensive mineral potential of the area.
The ongoing interpretation of the LiDAR data suggests that the number of historical workings and the extent of mineral veins might increase as further analysis is conducted. This technological approach provides Resolution Minerals with a clearer and more detailed understanding of the underground structures, which is critical for targeting and prioritizing exploration efforts.
Aharon Zaetz, Executive Director of Resolution Minerals, expressed his enthusiasm about the findings: “The LiDAR interpretation to date has provided RML a glimpse into the antimony and gold potential of Drake East,” he stated. The identified historical mine workings now serve as direct targets for further mapping and sampling to confirm and extend the known areas of mineralization.
The significance of these findings is underscored by previous sampling results from various historical workings within the Drake East tenure, which returned high-grade outputs including up to 5.72% antimony, 60.9 g/t gold, and 214 g/t silver. These results underscore the high-grade nature of the mineralization present at the site.
Adding to the project's appeal is its proximity to Legacy Minerals’ adjacent Drake Project, which boasts a resource estimate of 23.1 million tonnes at 1.1 g/t gold equivalent and 11.3 million tonnes at 99 g/t silver equivalent. This neighboring project's established resources highlight the region's richness and the potential synergy between adjacent mining operations.
As Resolution Minerals continues its LiDAR interpretation and moves towards more detailed exploration phases, the Drake East Project stands out as a promising endeavor with the potential to significantly enhance the company’s mineral portfolio and provide substantial insights into the region's geological framework.
