  • Survey results guide toward potential new exploration targets in underexplored corridors

Pivotal Metals (ASX:PVT) has completed a high-resolution magnetic survey across its Lorraine Project in Québec, Canada, marking a significant step forward in the company’s broader exploration strategy. This work is part of a targeted approach to unlocking new mineralisation in a historically rich but underexplored region.

The Lorraine Project, located within the Belleterre-Angliers Greenstone Belt (BAGB) of the Canadian Shield, is already known for its high-grade magmatic base metals and gold systems. With a geological setting that hosts copper-nickel-platinum group elements and a past-producing mine, the area has long been considered promising for critical mineral exploration. Preliminary interpretations of the latest magnetic survey data suggest the presence of multiple lithological formations and extensive structural features—ideal markers for potential discoveries.

The insights from the survey will guide Pivotal's next field campaign in July 2025, which will focus on detailed mapping and sampling of structural controls related to existing gold mineralisation. The program aims to extend the known mineralised zones and define new targets for trenching and geochemical soil surveys. Importantly, the company will also evaluate additional gabbroic bodies as potential hosts for magmatic sulphide mineralisation using the new magnetic data.

This exploration approach aligns with the rising investor interest in critical mineral projects and supports broader themes within the resource segment of the ASX200, where mineral explorers and developers continue to attract attention amid growing demand for battery and electrification metals.

Pivotal’s current strategy involves integrating high-resolution magnetic results with field data to pinpoint areas for electromagnetic (EM) geophysical surveys—an important precursor to developing future drill targets. The use of advanced geophysical tools positions the company to make data-informed exploration moves, which could significantly enhance project valuation.

The Lorraine Project exemplifies the kind of proactive and technically driven exploration that is gaining momentum among ASX-listed explorers. As resource companies leverage modern geophysical techniques to unlock deeper potential from legacy terrains, projects like Lorraine could emerge as key contributors to the evolving critical minerals supply chain in North America.

Pivotal Metals continues to advance its critical mineral-focused portfolio in Canada, reinforcing its presence as a forward-leaning explorer at a time when the global energy transition is redefining resource priorities.
