Highlights
- Significant gold discovery at Eaglehawk with the highest-grade results to date.
- RC drilling at Eaglehawk hits 29m at 4.79 g/t gold, reinforcing exploration strategy.
- Additional exploration underway at Side Well South and Mulga Bill with results pending.
Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) has reported a major breakthrough in its drilling campaign at the Eaglehawk prospect, a part of its flagship Side Well Gold Project near Meekatharra, Western Australia. The latest round of reverse circulation (RC) drilling has delivered the highest-grade gold intercept ever recorded at Eaglehawk, reinforcing the potential of this emerging gold district.
Exceptional Gold Grades Confirmed
A standout result from the recent RC drilling program includes an intersection of 29 metres at 4.79 g/t gold from 76 metres, with a higher-grade core of 4 metres at 20.50 g/t gold from 92 metres. These results validate the company’s approach of targeting high-grade, contact-related gold veins within the dacite host rock.
Additional aircore drilling at Side Well South has also returned promising intersections, such as:
- 2 metres at 1.66 g/t gold from 57 metres
- 2 metres at 1.30 g/t gold from 52 metres
Progress at Eaglehawk and Side Well South
The RC drilling campaign at Eaglehawk comprised 11 holes focused on mineralisation along the dacite-andesite contact. Earlier drilling in the area had been positioned too far west, but the latest results confirm a more effective targeting approach. Results from nine remaining RC holes are still pending, which could provide further insights into the extent of high-grade mineralisation.
At Side Well South, 62 aircore holes have helped define new gold zones. One notable result includes 17 metres at 0.33 g/t gold from 93 metres to end-of-hole, suggesting the presence of a broader mineralised system within a felsic intrusive structure.
Expanding Exploration Efforts
The company has initiated further RC drilling at both Mulga Bill and Eaglehawk, aiming to extend the high-grade zone further north. A recent heritage survey has also cleared the way for expanded exploration efforts, covering key targets north of Eaglehawk and priority zones at Tal Val.
Follow-up drilling at Side Well South is expected to commence once final heritage approvals are secured. Meanwhile, assays are pending for 22 aircore holes drilled northwest of Saltbush and 16 RC holes from Eaglehawk and Mulga Bill, which could further define resource potential across the project.
Eaglehawk’s Growing Potential
The company has rebranded Mulga Bill North as Eaglehawk, recognizing it as a distinct, high-grade gold target. Drilling has already outlined gold mineralisation over 900 metres of strike, with the system remaining open to the north over an additional 4 kilometres.
This significant discovery marks a pivotal moment for Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) as it continues to expand its exploration footprint and unlock the full potential of its Side Well Gold Project.
